Mamukkoya, the renowned Indian actor, was born on 5 July 1946 to Chalikandiyil Muhammed and Imbachi Ayisha. He received his primary education from MM High School in Calicut, Kerala. After completing his education at Pallikandi Elementary School, Kuttichira Higher Secondary School, and Kozhikode MM School, he started working at a timber yard in Kallayi. Mamukkoya’s performance in Gandhinagar Second Street was notable. He portrayed the character Gafoor in Sathyan Anthikkad’s Nadodikkattu (1987), which became a cult favorite in Kerala.

Malayalam actor-comedian Mamukkoya, known for his versatile performances in the film industry, passed away on 26 April 2023 at the age of 77. The actor had collapsed on a football field while inaugurating a soccer tournament in Malappuram, Kerala, on 24 April 2023, and was rushed to a nearby hospital after suffering a heart attack.
