Cullen McCarthy was born in 1998 in El Paso, Texas, USA. He is the son of Cormac McCarthy, the acclaimed novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner, and Jennifer Winkley, a former model and actress. He has a half-brother named John Francis McCarthy from his father’s previous marriage. He grew up in a literary environment, as his father often read to him and encouraged him to write.
